Madeline Douglass graduated from SCAD in 2019 with a degree in dramatic writing. Her plans to move to NYC and work in the film industry were foiled by COVID lockdown in 2020, but she was led back to one of her original passions in that time: painting.

She started doing some animal portraits for friends in 2020 and next thing she knew, everyone wanted one. She was able to work full time doing commissions for a couple years, and has slowly developed her style and a lovely network of clientele.

In 2023, Mads moved to Nashville, Tennessee to live with her best friend, and then in 2025 they relocated to Bangor, Maine. She's hoping to build a community there, and hopes to be out painting en plein air along the coast during the summers.

She and her best friend Casey have two cats (Baby Billy and Pedro Pascal) and many, many plants.
